Nagase & Co., Ltd. has committed to set near-term company-wide emission reductions in line with climate science with the SBTi*1 in September 2024. The commitment letter is a promise to set a GHG reduction target in line with Paris Agreement and apply to the SBTi for that target within two years.
The NAGASE Group has identified “Realize a Decarbonization” as one of our materiality, and we are focusing on reducing GHG emissions throughout our company and supply chain under the “NAGASE Group Carbon Neutral Declaration”.
By working to set targets that are in line with the Paris Agreement and to obtain SBT*2 certification, we will further accelerate our efforts towards carbon neutrality.
*1 SBTi is established by the CDP (formerly the Carbon Disclosure Project), the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) as an organization to evaluate companies’ greenhouse gas emission reduction targets.
*2 SBT is greenhouse gas emission reduction targets set by companies, consistent with the standards required by the Paris Agreement.
