Nagase & Co., Ltd. has entered into the third year of its sponsorship agreement with the U.S. racing team Andretti Formula E, which competes in the international motorsport event the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
■What is Formula E?
Formula E, known as the "F1 of electric vehicles," started in 2014 as the world's first motorsport event using electric vehicles. Due to the lack of noise and emissions during races, Formula E uniquely features circuits set up on public roads and aims to enhance and promote electric vehicle technology. The series has achieved carbon neutrality since its inception, making it the world’s first sports event to achieve net zero carbon.
Nagase & Co., Ltd. is committed to addressing next-generation challenges, particularly environmental issues, as part of its responsibility as a globally operating company. Through materials innovation, the aim is to resolve these challenges, striving to achieve carbon neutrality with substantial reductions in GHG emissions by 2050 (Scope 1 & 2). Similarly, Andretti Global, the parent company of Andretti Formula E, is deeply engaged in sustainability efforts. In addition to ISO 14001:2025 certification (*1), the organization has earned the highest rating of three stars (Best Practice) in the Environmental Accreditation Program (*2) by the International Automobile Federation (FIA), which evaluates environmental initiatives within the realm of motorsports.
